Agatti Island Beach Resort, Lakshadweep Islands,
India.
Lakshadweep Islands is a sheer poetry of the blue
shades of the sea and sky. The mystic whiteness and greenary of land merging,
intermingling and generating a symphony of liveness. Lakshadweep is truly a
rhythm of Land and Sea.
The Lakshadweep Islands are a string of little known islands, lying
approximately 320 kilometers (200 miles) off the south west coast of India.
There are thirty six islands in all, comprising coral atolls, submerged banks
and reefs. It is commonly believed that the islands were discovered by ship
wrecked sailors during the reign of Cheraman Perumal, a legendary king of
Kerala, around 354 AD.

Lakshadweep enjoys a tropical climate with summer temperatures ranging from 30 - 33 0 C during April and May and winter temperatures from 27 - 32 degrees C during the months of September to March. Water Temperature is usually around 25 - 27 degrees C. Southwest monsoons from May to early September bring plenty of rainfall to the islands. Northeast monsoons also result in some rains during October and November. However, rainfall is scanty and falls as passing showers. Cool sea breeze and the abundant shade bestowed by the canopy of coconut palms make the climate pleasant even during peak summer.

Today the population of Lakshadweep is around 60,000 spread over 10 islands. The
principal occupation of the people centers around fishing and coconut
cultivation. The isolation of the islands has ensured the preservation of their
pristine nature to the present day.

The gateway of Lakshadweep, Agatti Island, your destination is the only island
in Lakshadweep with an airport. Agatti and its satellite islands of Bangaram,
Thinnakara and Parali presents a breathtaking spectacle of sparkling coral
reefs, turquoise blue lagoons, silvery beaches and lush green coconut palms that
sway to the rhythm of the sea.
The Islands are connected to mainland by Indian Airlines flight from Cochin (daily, except Sunday), Goa (weekly three flights) and by ships from Cochin. So what are you waiting for. Come over to heaven on earth, Agatti Island.
Agatti Island Beach Resort presents a breath taking spectacle of sparkling coral reefs, turquoise blue lagoons, silvery beaches and lush green coconut palms. What is Snorkeling? : Snorkeling is a common form of diving on the surface or just below on the
surface of the water. A snorkel is a tube that allows the diver to breathe while
floating at the water's surface. One end fits in the divers mouth and the other
end extends above the water to get the air for breathing. You are provided with
a mask to see clearly in the water. Make sure to add this in your list of
activities when in Agatti.

A gentle and relaxing activity where the only noise is the wind, the sails and
the water lapping against the hull. It can also be a fast active sport where a
gust of wind will catch the sail driving you forward with an acceleration which

There are innumerable facilities for sightseeing and water sports. Kalpitty is a
tiny island surrounded by a clear water lagoon. The island is uninhabited and
has been developed into a beach. Bangaram is a tiny teardrop shaped island,
which lies very close to Agatti Island. Two small islands of Thinnakara and
Parali also lie close to Bangaram inside the same lagoon. During the nights,
phosphorescent plankton washed ashore on the coral sands impart a blue glow to
the beach which is totally enchanting.
