Estate Bungalow
Built in 1954 thottam in local language is estate
which makes this also an estate bungalow .The bungalow is blend of local
architecture with a colonial outlay evident on its well spread exterior pattern
.The steeply pitched tile roofs flow down to border the low fringed sheet roofs
covering the bay windows seen in all sides of the bungalow.
As you drive up to the bungalow along a mud road winding up from north
east and are welcomed into the long verandah facing east you may notice to the
calmness engulfing the compound which is canopied at the south and the western
flanks well in its effect of coolness due to the vegetations around.
The
well spread drawing room is appointed with simple furniture and sofas for you to
sink into the calmness the house as the hosts Mr.kurian Thomas and
Tessy takes care of you as member of the family in the
most hospitable manner making you fell very special.
Step into the bedroom to feel air and light seeping through the large bay
windows facing south. The large dining is furnished with massive tables and
other grand furniture which has influences from the mid Victorian period. An
interesting seen here is piano placed in the drawing room which changed hands
down legacies is one among many musical instruments found here.
